Warning Description: Areal Flood Advisory
Warning Date: 7:54 PM CDT on May 20, 2011
WarningSum:
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in League City has issued an
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Houston County in southeast Texas...
* until 945 PM CDT
* at 751 PM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
additional thunderstorms approaching northwestern portions of
Houston County. Extreme northwest portions of the County have
likely received 3 to 5 inches of rain during the past 4 hours.
An additional 1 to 2 inches will likely cause some flooding
across low spots on area roadways.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may cause elevated levels on
small creeks...streams...and bayous. Additionally...ponding of water
will occur on farm-to-Market or other secondary roads.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
depth and speed of flood waters.
Please report flooding to the County sheriff...local police...or
department of public safety and ask them to relay your report to the
National Weather Service.
